"God's word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path." (Psalm 119:105)

Travelling through New Zealand was indeed a totally wonderful and humbling experience, being filled with awe as I was immersed in the great creation of God, the wonder of His almighty work.

Travelling during the day time was great, whichever direction you look towards, the sky, the clouds, the glacier, the trees, the grass, .... everything is all so beautiful!

Yet, travelling at night, in total darkness, is really a lesson of faith. One night, as the coach took us back to the hotel, I was horrified to find that the two-hour ride was almost in total darkness. There were no lamps beside the road, and there were sudden turns round the corner. What the driver relied on was merely the headlight in front of the coach. In such darkness, the headlight was all so clear, showing the way ahead, alerting the driver of the upcoming turns and where to go along. Without the headlight, we could have crashed into the mountain or roll down the cliff.

Whilst praying along this 'frightening' journey, God taught me a spiritual lesson. The road ahead of us in our life is also not totally clear to us, and at times, we may even be in total darkness. Without seeking God's words and guidance, we are sure to bump into heaps of obstacles or even lose our life. But God's promise is that He will always be with us, lighting up our path and guiding us on our way. With complete faith in Him, He will guard us from all dangers and lead us away from temptations that will make us fall. Depend on Him and He will guide us on His path, the path that He has prepared for us and want us to go along.

Dear Father, thank you for being always beside me, reassuring me of Your presence and teaching me Your words. Please light up my path and strengthen my faith to walk in Your light! Amen.

Alice =)
